Before I could not use my fav headphones becuase of the shape of the plug, with this adapter I can use them again. Great product. allows any 3.5mm headphone or other attachment to my iphone with ease.
Now I don't have to remove my protective cover (body glove) when i attach my Ipod touch to my PC, stero etc.
Most likely, your headset has a 2.5mm plug, not this 3.5mm plug.If you are just looking to connect a regular set of stereo headphones or computer speakers, try just plugging it in to the iPhone first as most of them work without any adaptor at all. The description is technically correct, but if you are not in the habit of purchasing this sort of thing.If you just purchased your iPhone and want to connect your old favorite mobile phone or home headset (from your previous mobile phone for example) this is NOT what you need.
Great to have at hand. If you use major headphones and want to use them in the 1st Gen iPhone, get this adapter, it's perfect and doesn't ruin the sound. Buy several for work, home, etc.
I was a little skeptical at first however when I plugged it into my 1g I-Phone with the headsetit worked great.Definitely would buy it again.
